Artist Spotlight: Evildesign
As is probably apparent from the image, Evildesign is a design company, with a bit of a twisted view of humanity. Not twisted as in inaccurate, but twisted as in darkly humorous and cynical. Nobody in their designs looks normal; each seems to be tragically flawed. And yet, each seems oddly cute and appealing in some way. The paradox is so enticing.
Personally, I love the designs. They are not terribly sophisticated in terms of their detail etc. but in the way they depict people/things. Another thing I love about Evildesign is the vinyl toys. I am a big fan of vinyl toys. Something about the simplicity just really appeals to me. And I love the designs that Evildesign has done.
Evildesign’s portfolio, which can be found on their site, is very impressive. And they have a ton of vinyl toys for sale in their store. I recommend at least giving their stuff a look, especially their whole trade thing. Its pretty tight.
