Breakin’, Boppin’… wait wait wait…. let me not get ahead of myself.

Who are The Cool Kids? Would ‘fresh to death’ be an adequate answer? Well, that only covers part of it I guess. But seriously, these guys are my new fashion icons. They are so fly. The Cool Kids is a Chi-town party rap duo comprised of MCs Chuck and Mikey. They’re pretty cool.

Well… What do they sound like? Not The Pack or The Weirdos. Neither. They don’t sing. And they don’t make polka. So if you had to classify them, it would be… not singing and… not polka. Fa shizzle.

These dudes are too funny. Seriously though, they make 80s style rap, with beats that clearly have a very old-school influence, but also takes cues from the Houston screwed and chopped stylings to create a completely new, and completely fresh sound. Their lyrics are goofy, but fun. They are definitely party rockers.

Oh yeah… I forgot to mention they are also a part of DJ A-Trak’s Fools Gold Records. That just ups their credibility a ton huh? Definitely check these dudes out, and anticipate their mixtape that should be dropping soon. Hopefully these audio goodies help to tide you over.
