Live From the Pour House
So, you might have read my previous post about my boys the Urban Sophisticates. If not, here’s a quick re-cap. They are the illest boys out of Greensburough North Carolina. A funky, jazzy, soulful hip hop group who’s sound is punctuated by the incorporation of live instruments, most prominently an entire horns section. Now if your thinking this sounds dope, your right. Otherwise, get off my site (I’m just kidding, I still love you). But what’s always been told to me is that, while, yes their albums are great, they come no where close to rivaling a live show. And just as they’re about to hit up the Grog and Tankard in my hometown (DC up!), I’m not gonna be there. Damn you fate!
But then I heard excellent news. The Urban Sophisticates released a live album. That’s right, now you can enjoy live renditions of your favourite Urban tunes from the comfort of your own home (or car, or ipod, or whatever… the world is yours), and without the sweaty guy in front of you who blocks your view and stumbles backwards and onto your toes (I would still love to see these guys live… I will eventually). I definitely reccommend picking up this album, if you are a fan, and get ready for their upcoming 3rd studio release, featuring production from the dutch master himself, Nicolay.
