Vinyl Meltdown Gets Down and Dirty in DC

Last night, in[di]visible and I (plus one Korean import) were lucky enough to be able to go see DJ Tittsworth and pals throw down at the 930 club. Let me just say that energy was high, music was excellent, and the party was off the chain.
The event was a part of DJ Will Eastman’s Blisspop series, a monthly dance party that showcases some of DCs rising talents, as well as talents from across the country and across the world. It was sponsored by Scion and brightestyoungthings.com.
Unfortunately (or fortunately as I gathered) we only made it into the building in time for the openers Metropolitan’s final song. Personally, I was not impressed. But that went quickly enough, and without missing a beat we were into Eastman’s DJ set. The set was very good, and eclectic blend of different styles of music that all mish-mashed together and flowed smoothly. Not enough club DJs can even do this any more. But Eastman did, and kept the energy and high.
Next to the stage were the only non-locals of the night, Electro-Funk band Codebreaker, straight from Milwaukee. The group was phenomenal. Their energy was high, their music was sophisticated, funky, and had great rhythms. It definitely kept the party going live, and impressed the audience. I would definitely recommend seeing them live if given the opportunity.
Finally, the big man himself, DJ Tittsworth came out, with his B-more influenced blend of both random no-name tracks, and ultra-popular hits (not restricted by genre, we heard a range from Bon-Jovi, to SouljaBoy, to Eric Prydz, to The Offspring). It is truly awe-inspiring to see how much he can get a crowd moving. This was hands down THE BEST dance party I have seen. Tittsworth is a phenomenal DJ. He truly knows how to please the crowd (when I was right up in his face, I could notice him gaging the reaction to each song, and adjusting his set accordingly). His set lasted a good 2 and a half hours before we had to leave, but it was still going strong, and people were still dancing.
Overall, fantastic concert experience, and I look forward to attending more Blisspop events, and hearing from each of these artists in the future.

Still uploading some videos, will come back and edit this post after I’m done with that.
