Briefly, an apology for being so long in between posts. Moving is hectic. Sorry. It happens. I hope you understand. I had to truly get settled before I could make a real good post. But what a post it is. Not only do I have fantastic news, I also have a great dance mix to show you, and for you to download (on the house).
First order of business: Support Remot! You all know how serious a producer he is. Truly one of the illest. And now he has a chance to really get his music heard by major labels around the world. Next order of business… Up and coming DC Producer/DJ/Mashup artist Autorock.
That’s right. Get ready to quake your ass (i dunno what that means, but it sounds fun). And even if I’m not 100% sure what the assquake is, I feel like it might be what I was doing while listening to this mix. Its so crazy, so ecclectic, and so full of energy it just makes me want to stand up and get down.
Mash-up artists usually stick to a pretty strict formula of taking 2, maybe 3 totally different tracks and somehow bringing them together. That’s one way of doing it. Autorock takes it up a notch, throwing anywhere up to 7 songs in the mix at a time. And somehow, he gets them all syncing and coming together beautifully. Very heavy on funky bass riffs and drum loops, while still managing to stay really dynamic throughout mixing the oldies with the new stuff (Say, Ying Yang twins with Chic with R.E.M. with Beastie Boys, and still pulling it off) this mix is sure to get any party started. My only regret is that I am not in DC to enjoy a live show. I miss DC so much.
