Eric Lau- New Territories

Eric Lau is a UK-based producer who has produced for a number of artists including Lupe Fiasco, Dudley Perkins, Guilty Simpson, etc. He has received countless accolades from fellow artists including Phonte of Little Brother. His style is a very laid back, jazz-influenced form of hip-hop, featuring an incredible medley of sounds. Lau’s new album “New Territories” is quite the work, as it showcases his skills very well. The title of the album is actually a reference to an area of China that Lau’s family is from. “The area is full of mountain ranges, sea, villages and farmland” and a distinct contrast with other more well known areas of the country. “New Territories” also features a number of up-and-coming artists from all over who many may not know. It is Lau’s way of connecting with the grassroots movements from around the world in the music industry. This is easily one of the best albums in a while, so definitely take a look. Yessir.
