The Dark Knight

Okay, you knew it was coming. My review of The Dark Knight. All I can think to say is… wow. The movie was incredible. It definitely lives up to its surrounding hype. And as much as I like Aaron Eckhart and Christian Bale, Heath Ledger truly stole the show. Every time he was on screen he made me laugh and cringe. And it was so much fun. This Joker was the perfect Joker. The one I love from all of the best graphic novels. The deranged super-sane madman who really is just an eccentric agent of chaos. The theme of escalation, and the notion that Batman has spawned a new generation of villains is explored wonderfully.

Aside from the Joker though, the backbone of the film is really in the parallel between Batman and Harvey Dent. And Eckhart was great. He really knows how to skirt the line between the good guy and the bad guy well.

There’s so much I want to say, but I really don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t seen it. But if you haven’t, go see it. Because when I go back to see it in Imax, I will probably have more to say.

This one is the best of the Bat series .. and Ledger really deserves an Oscar … too bad he isn’t around anymore .. This is really his best work :(
