Print – Comic Books Unlimited

Last year, Print released Comic Books: Book I, but it was a pretty silent release. Since then, he’s built up a significant buzz, and the project managed to grab some attention. So today marks the re-release of the project. This time around it goes by a new name, Comic Books Unlimited, features a bunch of new tracks, and even some of the old tracks got extra guest spots (see Super Friends). I thought the original release of this was dope, but I guess I didn’t really know what dope is. This is dope. Print is an excellent MC, who’s got diverse styles, manages to carry a concept throughout an entire project, and who has a lot to say (and not just about comics).

The guest-list features some of indie hip hops finest, including Theophilus London, Mickey Factz, Outasight, Fresh Daily, Homeboy Sandman, Wordspit, Live Wire and plenty of others. But even amidst the numerous talented guests, Print manages not to get lost in the shuffle. The production on the album is great. Ranging anywhere from a Bonobo edit, to production by Outasight, and even a couple contributions from the Vinyl Meltdown crew. That’s right. Check out EmAy produced Lite Speed, and the Cold Legistics produced Harlem River Drive. So proud of my crew for that.

I got the email from Print this morning, downloaded the mixtape, and have been bumping it straight since. Definitely check out this project:
