Oh No is one of my current favourite producers. He’s more consistent than his brother Madlib (although to be fair, I think Madlib has a bigger catalogue of crazy-good beats). He’s working on a new album to be released through Stones Throw that samples all Ethiopian records. What a great concept; Ethiopian music has some really interesting scales that really aren’t found elsewhere. Anyways, in anticipation of his new album, he’s put together an 8-minute mix of snippets that really have me even more excited about the release. Check it out.
