Theophilus London Interview

A long overdue video interview I did with Theophilus London. I recently stumbled upon a folder of previously lost raw video of interviews I’ve done throughout the past year. This comes from during Theophilus’ stint on the 10,000 LB Hamburger Tour with A-Trak and Treasure Fingers. Check out the interview to hear more about the [...]

Yeasayer – One [video]

I know that recently I haven’t been posting as much hip hop as I usually do; I’m cool with that. If stuff like this video continues to come out then I’m going with quality over genre-allegiances. I say all that to say this: this music video is awesome. The use of colour and shapes is [...]

Kidz in the Hall x Introlude

Off Their Album “Land of Make Believe” and part of Nah Right’s One shot video series, KITH drop Introlude Directed by Court Dunn. I haven’t been a huge Kidz in the Hall Fan but something about this song grows on you with each listen, and the video adds this whole new weight to it.

Wakey!Wakey! – Ambling Alp (Yeasayer Cover)

Cobra Den Invitational: Wakey!Wakey! – Ambling Alp (Yeasayer) from Goddamn Cobras Collective on Vimeo.
Brooklyn-based arts collective Goddamn Cobras just launched their new video series, the Cobra Den Invitational, with this video. The series has a pretty loose format:
Our favorite people. In our favorite places. Reinterpreting our favorite things.
So far, so good.

Solange – Under Construction

If you ask me, Beyonce’s little sister is the more talented of the two. Sure, Beyonce’s got some impressive vocal chops, there’s no knocking that. But as a complete musical package, I think Solange is leaps and bounds ahead. Nowhere is that more clearly illustrated than on her latest track, Under Construction. Here we see [...]

MGMT – Flash Delirium

I honestly can’t decide if I think this track is brilliant or uninteresting which probably means that it’s both. I think I’ll know for sure once I have a chance to listen to their new album, Congratulations, all the way through (which according to the band, is the only way the album is supposed to [...]

Madlib – The Frontline (Liberation)

Madlib’s been dropping heatrock after heatrock lately (and pretty much always). Among other things he’s recently been releasing a series of albums called the Madlib Medicine Show. The first two releases were dope, but this 3rd one, Beat Konducta in Africa, has me particularly excited, mostly because his Beat Konducta in India was so great. [...]

Sebastien Tellier – Look [video]

Sebastien Tellier often flirts the line between genius and pervert (maybe he’s proving that there is no line). I for one think that he’s fallen decidedly into the genius category once again with the new video for Look. It seems like such a simple concept, but it’s done in an incredibly captivating way. The video [...]

Raaaaaaaandy vs. Justin Bieber

Raaaaaaaandy Declares War on Justin Bieber from Aziz Ansari
So apparently this Justin Bieber kid crashed one of the studio sessions for Raaaaaaaandy’s upcoming mixtape with Dave Sitek and started stealing track ideas. Not cool man. Not cool. Check out the dramatic reenactment of what went down above.
