Its great to see Donny’s career taking off. And to know that part of his success is due to Remot’s beautiful ‘Play Out in the Rain.’ That beat still sends shivers down my spine. But anyways, this beat is done by Dame Grease, which is pretty dope, and the song is real nice. Plus, its playing on mtvU. Which is awesome. Its part of their Freshman 5, which means, you can vote to keep it on the air (to do so, go here). Keep this video on TV, help propel Donny’s career.
I dunno why I am just starting my coverage of this project now. Because I’ve been really happy about this since the trailer. But yeah… 6th Sense & Wildabeast are Both Nice. They’re gonna be releasing a new track every week till the entire album is out. And what’s nice is that they’re releasing the song, as well as the instrumental and a capella for all you remixers out there. I went ahead and zipped up all 4 tracks that have dropped thus far, although to grab the a capellas and instrumentals, you’re gonna have to head over to Notherground. Anyways, I’m really feeling this project, so hopefully you will to.
Both Nice (1-4)
For some reason, ever since I saw these at the store a week ago, I can’t stop thinking about these sunglasses. Anon makes some pretty good sunglasses so without a doubt, the quality is top-notch. Head out to your local shop and holler at these (in the Smurf Blue, of course) before you can’t find ‘em anywhere but on someone else’s face.
Cynicus is teamed up with Mick Boogie, and is looking to make a name for himself with a slew of new mixtapes, the first one being this one. The 10th Wonder Mixtape. This is over all 9th Wonder beats (hence the name of the mixtape, but i’m still wondering where the 8th wonder went). For those unfamiliar with the name, Cynicus is straight out of Lorain, which is just outside of Cleveland. Keep an eye out for the rest of this guys stuff, including 10th Wonder pt. 2, and a host of other stuff.
If you haven’t heard Black Milk’s new album Tronic… get on it. You’re missing out. This is probably one of the best cuts off the album, and the video is really cool. So watch it.
Hmmm… I really like this. I think that, in terms of the aesthetic on BE, this really doesn’t fit in. I also like the KanYe beat way more than this one. But this is a great song too. Glad it got released, but this could have gone on Finding Forever (which, I must say, was overall a disappointing album) as Be part 2 or something. I must say though, it seems like J-Dilla is getting more posthumous joints released than Tupac. Again though, dope track.
Here’s part two of my interview with Kidz in the Hall. Enjoy!
In[di]visible: So after this tour are you guys heading into the studio to work on your next album or looking to start other projects?
Double-O: We’re still doing more shows. That’s what we always talk about now. The reality is that we’re independent artists and we have to push everything as far as we can because we might make records as big as major label artists but its always going to take longer because we don’t have that kind of budget. People are not even tired of “Drivin’ Down the Block” and that record has been around since December of last year. So knowing that, we know that we still have another six months of “Love Hangover”. That also incorporates more shows etc. So that’s really the main focus right now and then we’ll start thinking about what we’re going to do. Basically, there are three projects on the plate which are: a new Kidz in the Hall record and then two solo records. But, who knows when that will happen? Everything right now is about “The In Crowd” right now.
